Discovery of new oil and gas deposits: A big success

Karachi: Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has announced the discovery of new oil and gas reserves in Sindh. In this regard, sources say that OGDCL has informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange about the discovery of new oil and gas reserves in Sanghar area of ​​Sindh. The statement said that OGDCL had started oil and gas exploration on June 26, 2022, adding that OGDCL has 100 percent stake as operator in the well. During the drilling, the well established in the south block of Chak 5 dam went to a depth of 3400 meters, from the said well, 1.30 million cubic feet of gas and 2 thousand barrels of oil reserves were found per day. According to the statement, this new discovery will go a long way in bridging the gap between demand and supply of energy from local resources and will also increase OGDCL's hydrocarbons. It should be noted that earlier in the beginning of this year, OGDCL had also discovered oil and gas reserves in Sindh's Tando-ul-Hiyar district.
